Hayward, WI — The Worth County Fence Stretchers (WCFS) returned to the Chippewa Flowage for their annual winter ride, bringing 45 members to Pat’s Landing for a weekend that combined riding, camaraderie, and community impact. The club has made the trip for more than 15 years, building a strong relationship with the Hayward area and the trail system they value.

During the weekend, WCFS hosted a club poker run in partnership with several Big Chip resorts, raising $450 through member participation. The club then contributed an additional $550, bringing the total donation to $1,000. The funds were presented to the Sawyer County Snowmobile ATV Alliance (SCSAA) to support ongoing trail maintenance and grooming efforts throughout the county.

“Our club has been staying at Pat’s Landing for more than 15 years, where we’ve always appreciated their accommodating hospitality and their commitment to promoting the Sawyer County trail system we love riding,” said the WCFS Board. “We wanted to give back to this community, so we’re donating $1,000 to the SCSAA to help support trail maintenance for all the riders who enjoy these trails.”

WCFS expressed appreciation to Pat’s Landing for hosting the group once again, as well as to fellow Big Chip resort owners and businesses who donated prizes to make the poker run a success. The club emphasized that maintaining strong trail systems requires partnership between riders, local businesses, and trail organizations — and that supporting those efforts is essential to preserving the sport for future generations.

The Worth County Fence Stretchers are committed to responsible riding, community involvement, and supporting the trail systems that make winter recreation possible.
